Vesuvius Itinerary

After a 45 minute joumey along the Sorrentine Peninsula you reach the Torre del Greco and start the ascent of Mount Vesuvius.

The coach will take you up the slopes of Vesuvius to a height of 1000 metres where you will then walk along a path to reach the peak of the volcano accompanied by a specialist mountain guide. Here you will be rewarded by an impressive view of the crater itself together with spectacular views over the Bay of Naples towards Sorrento.

The trip is complemented by a visit to the Mineralogical Museum in Vico Equense, either on the outward or on the return journey. The museum is one of the largest science museums in the Campania region for the number, variety and rarity of its minerals. It boasts a collection obtained during the course of more than fifty years of research by the engineer Pasquale Discepolo. There are over 3500 minerals of 1400 different species from around the world. Italian and foreign scholars have enriched the collection with their many donations.

Your comfortable air-conditioned coach will take you back to Sorrento by late morning/early afternoon.
